Jean‑François Abgrall, now head of a private detective agency, was a provincial gendarme in 1989 when he was sent to investigate a beach murder. His probe led him into the case against Francis Heaulme, France’s notorious serial killer who roamed the country for eight years, committing some of the most brutal murders in recent history. The film recounts the true‑story manhunt, marked by terror, suspense and relentless determination.
