In this vibrant setting, we meet Daisy, an exceptionally optimistic quokka who begins to feel weary of the monotonous routine of merely posing for photographs. Daisy has aspirations that stretch far beyond the confines of Quokka Rocks: she longs to achieve the impossible and win the annual “World’s Scariest Games” (WSG), a renowned competition where animals from diverse backgrounds vie for the title of the “World’s Scariest Animal.” Her inspiration stems from her childhood hero, Frankie Scales, the illustrious five-time WSG champion crocodile, who embodies the belief that one should “Never give up on your dreams.” However, when Daisy shares her ambition with her parents, who run the tourism industry on the island, they dismiss her dream as unrealistic. They firmly believe that quokkas should be perceived as cute and cuddly, steering Daisy towards becoming the new face of Quokka Rocks instead.

In compliance with her parents’ wishes, Daisy embarks on a ferry trip to Sanctuary City, tasked with promoting the island’s tourism by taking photos with visitors. Upon her arrival, after struggling to haul her stand up a steep hill—a nod to a scene reminiscent of Kung Fu Panda—Daisy arrives at the WSG arena, only to discover that the qualifying rounds are set to commence the following day. Here, she encounters Ronda Saltie, a formidable female crocodile and top contender for the WSG tournament, who cruelly mocks Daisy’s aspiration to compete, declaring that the quokka would need a coach willing to train her.

Later that evening, after a day of taking pictures, Daisy’s stand is stolen by a gang of drop bears. During the chase to reclaim it, she ventures into the wilderness and meets a grumpy old crocodile—who turns out to be Frankie Scales, now a reclusive figure barely remembered. Frankie’s past was once vibrant, marked by triumph until a fateful day during the Fire Isles Finale of the WSG. Competing against his rival, Jerry Whiskers, Frankie accidentally caused Jerry to fall and sustain life-altering injuries, resulting in the former champion’s exile from the city he once ruled. Betrayed and guilt-ridden, Frankie left, abandoning everything, including his family.

At first hesitant to assist Daisy, Frankie relents after hearing about Ronda’s harsh treatment of her. The next day, during the tryouts, Frankie encounters Jerry, who now uses a wheelchair due to his accident and resents Frankie for his past mistakes.
