Curse of Chucky

Four years after the previous film, the murderous doll Chucky arrives mysteriously in the mail at Nica's family home. The package unsettles Nica, her paraplegic condition, and the rest of the household as they try to settle into a quiet routine. The ominous presence of Chucky is established from the moment he appears in the living room.

Nica's mother Sarah throws Chucky into the garbage, unaware of the danger. Later that night, Sarah dies from a self-inflicted stab wound as Chucky watches from a nearby chair. The tragedy deepens the family's grief and suspicion regarding the doll's return.

Barb arrives with her husband Ian, daughter Alice, and live-in nanny Jill to help settle their mother's affairs. Father Frank, a priest, also comes to counsel the family during this difficult time. The household expands as old tensions surface.

Alice finds Chucky in the bathroom and forms an unusual bond with him. She spends time talking to the doll, treating him as a friend rather than a threat, while the others remain unaware of his true nature. The uneasy dynamic between Alice and the others begins to unfold.

During dinner, Chucky pours rat poison into one of the chili bowls without anyone noticing. The poison sows confusion and fear as the night progresses. A car accident later leaves Father Frank disoriented and ultimately leads to his gruesome death when the car roof is removed, severing his head.

Back in the living room, the family watches old home movies and Nica spots a man in the footage who bears a striking resemblance to Chucky. She begins to suspect that the doll is not just a prop but something more sinister. The storm outside amplifies the sense of danger as power flickers on and off.

As a blackout plunges the house into darkness, Chucky moves with alarming audacity, appearing beside a sleeping Ian. Nica attempts to move Chucky toward Alice using the elevator, but the blackout complicates every plan and leaves her badly injured when power returns. The house becomes a trap filled with uncertainty.

Jill is drawn into the danger as a power conduit and a cruel prank leads to her death by electrocution when rainwater and a live outlet meet. Meanwhile Ian has secretly been watching Barb and Jill’s affair via a nanny cam, adding another layer of tension and mistrust to the household. The blackout streak continues to complicate every move.

Barb confronts Chucky in the attic, where the doll’s face is revealed to be scarred from past injuries. Barb uncovers the doll’s remaining tricks, and Chucky gouges out her eye before Barb falls to her death on the stairs. The attic becomes a deadly battleground.

Chucky locks himself in a car in the garage and attempts to kill Nica with carbon monoxide. Nica fights back with a hatchet, smashing a car window to break free. Ian reappears, disarms Nica, and the stress of the night triggers a heart attack that knocks her unconscious.

Nica awakes to find Ian has tied her to a wheelchair and the nanny cam footage confirms Chucky is alive and manipulating events. Chucky uses Nica’s wheelchair to run Ian over, then decapitates him with a hatchet. Nica retaliates, ultimately decapitating Chucky with the same weapon.

In a chilling flashback, Chucky explains his history with Sarah: he was in love with her, killed her husband, and kidnapped her after the funeral. Sarah rejected him, and the ensuing stabbing set the chain of events that led to Nica’s birth and the eventual cycle of horror. The revelation reframes the entire motive for the murderous doll.

Some time later, Nica is found guilty and sent to an asylum, while a police officer carries Chucky away. Tiffany suddenly appears, slits the officer’s throat, and mails Chucky to his next target, signaling the doll’s next chapter of mayhem. The killer’s reach continues beyond the courtroom.

Alice, now living with her grandmother, returns home and confronts Chucky. He persuades her to play 'Hide The Soul' and the camera lingers on the cellar as the grandmother’s fate is sealed with a bag over her head. The ritual hints at Chucky’s ongoing plans for transference.

After the credits, Chucky is delivered to the now adult Andy Barclay. Andy answers a phone call from his mother, then confronts Chucky with a shotgun tucked to his head. Chucky is ready to continue the game, prompting Andy to utter 'Play with this' just as the trigger is pulled.
