Small‑town correspondence‑school detective Cosmo Jones arrives in the city to assist police. He witnesses a gang hit, then becomes involved when socialite Phyllis Blake is targeted for kidnapping by rival thugs. Working with Sergeant Flanagan, porter Eustace and Flanagan’s fiancée Susan, Cosmo uncovers the kidnap plot, manipulates a newspaper ad, and sparks a deadly double‑cross that wipes out one gang.
