Steve Thompson, 31, opens by declaring he’s “clay,” then recounts his painful childhood—feeling different, being teased at school, blaming himself, and seeking escape in a clay bar. His father Lance offers gentle support. Off‑camera, “Mr. X” reflects on the 1970s when being clay was celebrated, a era that’s long gone. Ultimately Steve joins a support group that helps him realize it’s okay to be clay.
