Choukri, known as Chouchou, is a charismatic transvestite Maghrebi who arrives illegally in Paris searching for his missing nephew. He secures a job assisting a friendly psychotherapist and also works as a waiter in a lively Clichy cabaret, where he meets Stanislas, a performer at the venue.
