A psychiatric patient breaks out of a Madrid mental hospital and begins a brutal killing spree, starting with two girls by a river and escalating with ever more gruesome murders that terrorize the outskirts. Meanwhile, friends José and Antonio plan a weekend at José’s family country house, inviting sisters Ana, a secretary who loves Antonio, and shy Laura, still reeling from a recent breakup, hoping for a pleasant getaway that soon turns nightmarish.
