Cattle Queen of Montana

Pop Jones inherited a piece of family land in Montana, which prompted him to leave their Texas ranch and relocate with his daughter Sierra Nevada to the Montana frontier to claim the property and start a new life.

McCord was in cahoots with Natchakoa, the Blackfoot leader, to orchestrate the rustling operation. He supplied ammunition to the tribe, and in return, their braves stampeded the Jones cattle and created chaos that allowed McCord to steal the land rights document from Pop's body.

After killing Pop during the Blackfoot attack, McCord stole the document that granted the Jones family their land rights in Montana. This theft was meant to give McCord legal claim to the property.

Colorados was a young Blackfoot who attended school among whites, which created tension with the tribal chief who disapproved of his ties to the settler community. Despite these tensions, he chose to nurse Sierra back to health, demonstrating loyalty to those outside his tribe.

The tribal chief's displeasure over Colorados' schooling among whites earlier foreshadows his decision to help Sierra.

Farrell was actually a U.S. Cavalry agent undercover, sent to investigate the rustling and killings in the territory. When McCord ordered him to kill Sierra and Nat for a $2,000 bounty, Farrell revealed his true allegiance and chose to protect them instead.

Farrell's warning to Sierra about dangerous Indians when they first met hinted at his deeper knowledge of territorial tensions.

Farrell and Sierra devised a plan to blow up a McCord wagon loaded with ammunition that was being sold to the Blackfoot. The explosion destroyed the supplies and eliminated McCord once and for all, ending his rustling scheme and bringing peace to the territory.

Farrell was hired by McCord as a hired gunman, using his reputation as a gunfighter as cover for his real mission. McCord believed he was employing Farrell to further his rustling operation, not knowing Farrell was actually a Cavalry investigator.

Pop Jones was killed during the Blackfoot cattle stampede that McCord orchestrated. The braves knocked Sierra unconscious, wounded Nat Collins, and killed Pop in the chaos, after which McCord stole the land rights document from his body.

McCord wanted to take control of the Montana land that Pop Jones had inherited. By orchestrating the attack through the Blackfoot and stealing the land-rights document, McCord attempted to claim the property for himself, likely to expand his wealthy ranching operations.

McCord offered a $2,000 bounty to anyone who would kill Sierra Nevada Jones and Nat Collins. This was his attempt to eliminate the last obstacles to his control over the land after Pop's death.
