Although not built as a Clara Bow star vehicle, her presence lifts the film into a social critique. It opens on death row with a young man awaiting execution. Society lawyer Gordon Harrington stages a fake murder, framing Dan O’Connor as a scapegoat, while a playboy hides on a yacht. When the playboy is killed, O’Connor becomes the condemned murderer, exposing the legal system’s flaws.
