Grigoris sings while working on a construction site and catches the ear of conductor Vangelis and two bouzouki players, who invite him to join their orchestra. He takes a night job at Mr. Leftris’s club, where his wife Marina soon joins the stage and delights the crowd. Her rapid rise creates tension, as admirers of each pull the couple apart.
