June, a young orphan, meets Perry Bascom when he offers her his lunch on the road to Rising Sun. Their friendship quickly blossoms into love, and they marry. The peace is shattered when a woman from Perry’s past arrives, determined to stir trouble. Teaming with a local political bully, the schemers try to ruin Perry’s life, but June stays steadfast, supporting her husband through the danger.
