Blow the Man Down

Priscilla and Mary Beth Connolly are sisters situated in the quaint fishing town of Easter Cove, Maine, grappling with the recent loss of their mother, Mary Margaret. During her wake, they receive condolences from family friends like Doreen Burke, Susie Gallagher, and Gail Maguire. Tensions rise when Mary Beth discovers that their mother had taken a loan to support their faltering fishmonger business, threatening their home in the process.

While at a bar, Mary Beth encounters a mysterious stranger named Gorski, leading to an unsettling car ride where she uncovers a gun in the glove compartment. Disturbed by his advances, she loses control and crashes the car. Upon examining the trunk, she is horrified to find blood and a woman’s belongings, causing her to panic. In a frantic encounter, she stabs Gorski with a harpoon and brutally bludgeons him with a brick.

Returning home, a shaken Mary Beth meets a startled Priscilla, who considers calling the police but ultimately hangs up. In a desperate bid to hide their crime, they use Priscilla’s knife to dismember Gorski’s body and dispose of it in a cooler they throw into the ocean. The following day, Priscilla realizes that the inscribed knife is missing, while Mary Beth discovers a staggering $50,000 hidden in Gorski’s shack.

As local officer Justin Brennan borrows the Connolly’s boat, he mistakenly identifies a body washed ashore — revealing that it’s not Gorski but a murdered prostitute named Dee. Meanwhile, Doreen, Susie, and Gail confront Enid Nora Devlin, a long-time family friend and brothel owner, about Dee’s death and her connection to Gorski, who was in her employ.

Despite her defiance, Enid soon suspects the Connolly sisters, especially when she spots Priscilla’s blood-stained boots and noticed Mary Beth spending the cash. Struggling with guilt and fear, the sisters consider turning themselves in but hesitate when Brennan unexpectedly shares a dinner with them, piquing their attention.

In a twist, Alexis, another girl from Enid’s establishment, reveals her suspicions about Enid’s role in Dee’s demise, causing further tensions to rise. As events spiral out of control, the sisters decide to confront Enid, who ultimately blackmails them for the return of the money in exchange for the bloody knife.

When they attempt to return the money and reclaim the knife, Enid, in a drunken state, reflects on the sacrifices made by their mother. Echoing the past, tensions mount within the illicit world of the brothel. In an unexpected climax, Alexis eliminates Enid, seizing the money for herself and escaping with another girl.

As the cooler, holding the remnants of Gorski’s body, eventually washes ashore, the situation escalates further. With information from Gail and a call to action from Doreen and Susie, Officer Coletti prepares to shut down the Oceanview. In the end, as Priscilla and Mary Beth walk down the street, they inadvertently pass by their friends, who are unintentionally wrapping up their own dirty work, leaving the sisters to reflect on the tangled web of events that have forever altered their lives.
