In the final showdown Maya grabs the gun left by their friend Paul and shoots the masked figure. The mask falls away to reveal Magnus Brewer, the attorney who handled Birgit’s estate, and who is in fact a servant of the demon. Around them cultists chant and perform the old rite, but their presence does nothing to stop the ritual. The town‑doctor, hoping to end the curse by offering Wren’s unborn child, is killed the moment she attempts the sacrifice, underscoring that the demon will not be bargained with.
With the masked man dead, Wren realizes the only way to protect the baby is to become the vessel the demon seeks. She dons the antler mask herself, declaring that she will take the role of the next demon so that Maya and the child can escape.
