Later that night, at a party, Carleigh makes a hostile remark to Lexi as she reaches for a hot dog, and Lexi—humiliated—learns not only of the video but of Greg’s cruel wager. She bolts from the party in tears, and the night’s chaos culminates in Lexi being struck by a car, dieing in view of many witnesses, including Greg and Jared, who are left grieving and stunned.
The fallout reaches Lexi’s mother Michelle and her brother Shane, who deserve real justice for Lexi but encounter a roadblock when the detective assigned to the case, Detective Morris, [Derek Phillips], explains that the teens were involved and consented, complicating the emotions and the pursuit of consequences. Brenda Garrett, [Paula Trickey], Greg’s mother, returns home to find her son dead, setting off a fresh wave of grief.
