Beneath

Six high school seniors arrive at a secluded lake for their last day together. Mr. Parks, a friend of Johnny's grandfather, warns Johnny to be careful around the water. Johnny promises to show respect, but the others ignore the warning as they settle into the boat.

The group feels an unknown force brushing against them underwater. Deb reaches for the missing oar and is bitten by a giant fish, bleeding to death. The survivors struggle to reach shore with a single oar, but the creature destroys the other oar, leaving them stranded.

With Deb dead, the remaining oar is useless and the group attempts to distract the fish by tossing her body overboard. The tactic fails, and their escape becomes increasingly futile. They are left stranded on the lake with no working oars.

Kitty accuses Johnny of knowing more about the danger, implying the protective necklace has significance. Zeke urges the group to throw Johnny overboard, sparking tense confrontation. In a panic, Zeke leaps into the lake and disappears, with the fish reportedly following.

Enraged by the accusations, Matt overreacts and throws Zeke overboard; the fish eats him quickly. Zeke's GoPro records the terrifying attack as he sinks beneath the surface. The surviving group watches in horror as the lake claims another student.

Johnny makes it to shore and heads out in a motor boat to rescue the others. He attempts to tow the stranded boat with a rope, but the fish ram the vessel and the rope tightens around his neck, killing him. The rescue attempt ends in tragedy.

Kitty, Matt, and Simon throw Johnny's body into the water as a distraction for the fish, but the creature does not immediately take it. The trio argue about Zeke's fate, and Matt refuses Kitty entry on the rescue boat, forcing her to swim away. The tension continues to rise as the situation grows direr.

The brothers fight and tumble into the water. Simon suffers a head injury, leaving drops of blood that lure the fish. Matt attempts to help but is knocked into the fish's path and eaten; Simon manages to swim toward shore.

Kitty spots Johnny's body nearby and removes his tooth necklace, hoping it will protect her. She returns to the shallows, but Simon confronts her and drowns her despite her pleas.

Night deepens as Mr. Parks questions a bloodied Simon about Johnny's fate. Simon claims everyone is dead, prompting Parks to reveal he has Zeke's GoPro and a gun, implying he knows what happened. He shoots Simon, who is dragged back toward the water to be devoured by the fish.

Johnny's tooth necklace remains on the lake bed as the water darkens with blood. The lake settles into a silent, ominous stillness, signaling the end of the tragedy and the unanswered questions that linger in the waves.
