Four Harlem friends—an FBI agent, a mechanic, an African‑American studies professor and a doctor—take a late‑summer road trip in a Mercury Monarch. Their jokes about sex turn into debates on race. On night two a stop at a roadside diner sparks a brawl when Phil fights a white patron. Leaving, they get lost on a back road as deputies hunt four drug dealers who tried to rob the same diner.
