Set at the start of the 1999 NATO bombing in Belgrade and a Serbian town, the film follows forty‑year‑old Mickey—an unfulfilled writer, disillusioned art professor, dismissed columnist and weary democrat—who mysteriously returns from his own grave. In the next 48 hours he strives to accomplish the ambitions he missed in life while also fighting to preserve the dignity of his community and tribe, often neglecting his own well‑being.
