A meteor shower damages the alien's ship Sol, causing it to crash into Moscow. The Russian Air Force mistakes the craft for a NATO spy satellite and fires missiles, shredding it and triggering a frantic rescue effort. Moscow endures a curfew and a large-scale evacuation as hundreds are killed or injured.

Authorities decide not to contact the alien occupants, choosing to let the ship repair itself. The landing zone is fenced off and guarded, and the city is placed under curfew. Officials warn residents to stay away from the crash site and monitor any unusual activity.

Yulia, Artyom, and a group of friends sneak into the crash site. They overpower the alien and cause him to crash into a building, then recover his armor before any army patrol can intervene. They stash the armor away, hoping to keep it hidden.

A few days later, Yulia sneaks back to check on the alien and places him with a nerdy classmate nicknamed Google to help him recover. While examining Hekon's body, she notices a wristband forming on her own arm that can manipulate water. She realizes there is more to this encounter than she first believed.

Hekon goes into the streets to locate the Shilk device, which would allow him to travel without destroying his body. The water-attracting Shilk seems to respond to Earth conditions as he searches. The police mistake him for a drug addict and detain him at a police station.

Artyom and friends drive to inform Colonel Lebedev about the alien's armor but stumble into a crowd furious about water rationing. Ruslan provokes the crowd into a riot, and Artyom is beaten and taken to the police station, where he forgets to tell Lebedev what he knows. The unrest complicates the response to the alien's arrival.

Yulia goes to tell her father she is pregnant with Hekon's child to distract him, facilitating Hekon's disguise as a scientist to take Shilk from its container. Lebedev interrupts his meeting with officers as she speaks, creating a tense moment. Hekon uses the distraction to seize the Shilk device.

Yulia confesses her true feelings for Hekon in a phone call to Artyom. Artyom arrives with his friends to beat the alien, and Hekon fights back to defend himself. When one of Artyom's companions tries to shoot Hekon, Ruslan is accidentally shot, fueling Artyom's anger and resolve.

Artyom's mob breaches a police barricade, triggering robotic suits to defend the area. Yulia and Hekon drive a military car through the chaos to return him and Shilk to their ship, fending off Artyom's escalating assault. Hekon defeats Artyom, but Artyom shoots Yulia and Hekon with a dropped rifle.

Colonel Lebedev follows the walking suits as they carry Yulia and Hekon to the spaceship. Inside, the ship's water-based healing system nurses Yulia's injuries, and the ship's computer begins to answer questions about Hekon's mission. Yulia's love and willingness to protect him lead the computer to rewrite its assessment of Earth.

The ship departs, releasing excess water back into space as life in Moscow slowly returns to normal. Artyom is arrested and presumably sent to a prison camp for his actions. The immediate crisis settles, but the memory of the encounter lingers in the city.

The final song underscores a key theme: a distant alien trusted humanity more than humanity trusts itself. The closing moment leaves viewers with a reflection on trust, otherness, and the possibility of future contact.
