Amos

Amos Lasher is a recently widowed man who wakes up in Sunset Nursing Home after a car crash claims his wife and upends his life. He forms connections with fellow residents, especially Hester, and resists the facility's oppressive regime. He uncovers Daisy's coercive demand to name her the beneficiary and ultimately takes drastic action to expose the truth, even at the cost of his own life.

Daisy Daws is the head nurse who runs Sunset Nursing Home with an iron fist and a web of fear. She manipulates staff, sanctions deadly acts in the name of order, and indulges in a covert affair with the Sheriff to shield her behavior. Her threats against Amos reveal a calculating hunger for power and money.

Roland is the chief orderly who enforces Daisy's regime, acting as her muscle and gatekeeper. He appears loyal, but his actions reveal how ordinary workers enable systemic abuse within the facility.

Hester is an elderly resident who becomes a companion for Amos and a symbol of resilience in a bleak system. She navigates the facility's hazards with quiet dignity and offers emotional support to others.

Sheriff John Thomas appears as a corrupt link in a local power network, having an affair with Daisy and enabling the veneer of legitimacy the facility needs. His complicity helps Daisy control the narrative and suppress complaints.

Commissioner Burt Daniels visits the home and is swayed by the positive portrayal Daisy presents, illustrating how political power can overlook cruelty.

Scott Lasher is Amos's grandson who visits and offers to take him in, representing family ties and the hope for a kinder future.
