In the climax, Major Mukund Varadarajan learns that the terrorist leader Asif Wani is holed up in a remote village. Knowing that civilians—women, children and the elderly—still live there, he first orders a careful evacuation, ensuring that no innocent life is put in danger before the assault. With the village cleared, he and his close‑combat team, including the brave Sepoy Vikram Singh, move in under cover of darkness. A fierce firefight erupts; Mukund confronts Wani face‑to‑face and, after a tense exchange, kills the militant commander, fulfilling the mission that has haunted him since the earlier operation against Altaf Baba.

The victory, however, comes at a steep price. In the heat of the battle, Mukund is struck by enemy fire and collapses. Despite the desperate attempts of his comrades to drag him to safety, the wound proves fatal, and he succumbs on the spot, dying exactly where he chose to finish his duty. The scene lingers on his still‑standing rifle and the silent, snow‑capped hills, underscoring the sacrifice of a soldier who gave everything for the nation.

The film then shifts to the present, with Indu Rebecca Varghese narrating from a flight to Delhi, where she and her daughter Hasi are traveling to receive Mukund’s posthumous Ashoka Chakra. As the plane soars, Indu reflects on their love, the moments they shared, and the emptiness left by his loss, describing their bond as an eternal long‑distance relationship. The final image fades on her wistful smile, leaving the audience with a lingering sense of both heroic triumph and heartbreaking farewell.
