Prof. John Mayer and Dr. Isabel Reed invent a powerful ray in the 19th century. An alien fearing its danger comes to Earth, first possessing Thomas, a violent serial killer, to approach Mayer during a demonstration. The alien also controls Thomas’s mind to sabotage the device, and his murderous urges drive attacks on women with a razor.
