After receiving the daily access code, S.U.M.1 navigates the confusing corridors and reaches his basic accommodations. He begins to organize his few supplies and meticulously cleans a glass cup, seeking a semblance of normalcy in his surroundings.

As the days pass, S.U.M.1 falls into a monotonous routine, marked by physical exercises, quick showers, and daily alarms. His mind occasionally drifts to visions of carefree children, starkly contrasting the grim realities of his mission.

During his watch from the tower, S.U.M.1 witnesses distant explosions following an attack on Outpost Lalops. This unsettling sight deepens his apprehension about the dangers lurking outside and foreshadows the horrors of the Nonsuch threat.
