Dr. Makino, a gruff, disheveled pediatrician, runs the elementary school clinic. He scolds students and staff—‘Don’t get on the bed without permission!’—and complains it isn’t his real job. His sharp observation spots hidden health problems, helping children, families and teachers, and the series follows his compassion as he rescues those in need.
