Action Hero Biju

The film centers on Biju Paulose, a dedicated Sub-Inspector, who leads a team of officers through a steady stream of petty and major complaints that pour into a bustling police station. A 12-year-old girl is mauled by a dog near the home of a powerful businessman, Samson Tharakan, and eyewitnesses claim the dog was deliberately let loose. The team follows the trail back to the businessman, and the initial pursuit is met with stiff political resistance as local officials try to block the case from being registered. Undeterred, the precinct tracks the culprit to a club and makes a decisive arrest, showing that fear and influence will not derail a straightforward act of justice.

A separate complaint arrives from a lady, [Baby], who has yet to receive her salary. In a tense mediation, Biju pushes for a fair settlement between the employers and the worker: threaten to shut down the company for registration inaccuracies if the dues aren’t paid, and the employers quickly yield. The spotlight then shifts to a grim sequence: a woman’s suicide attempt and the disappearance of a Navy personnel who jumps into the sea to rescue the woman and her child. The rescue succeeds for the woman, but tragically the child dies, apparently due to delays in emergency response. This incident hits Biju hard, and there are few clues about the missing Navy man.

In the days that follow, he handles a string of cases, from an auto driver who stalks a married woman to bikers riding without helmets, and a drunk who steals a wireless set from a careless cop, Minimon. The latter moment brings a tense, almost comic edge to the routine grind of policing. As investigations widen, a troubling trend emerges: a narcotics racket that preys on schoolchildren. A group of teenagers is caught purchasing marijuana from a notorious criminal during random vehicle checks, and Biju handles the situation with a mix of firmness and mercy, arresting them in the magistrate’s presence but choosing to warn the parents and let them go without a formal record to avoid derailing their futures.

A more personal case unfolds when Pavithran’s wife Sindhu elopes with their daughter. In a separate jewel-theft case assigned by his superiors, Biju suspects housemaid Bhavani; he interrogates her and finds her alibi flawed, leading to her arrest. Meeting Bhavani’s husband Rajendran and their daughter Raji, a respected SPC cadet, deepens his moral dilemma, as he learns the mother resorted to crime to pay for her daughter’s schooling. Despite these doubts, he adheres to procedure and moves forward with the case. In the ensuing operations, he corners several wanted criminals, taking injuries in a tense confrontation, but holding them until backup arrives.

Back at the hospital, he jokes with his fiancée, Benitta Dominic, that injuries are part of the job and that she is free to marry someone else. The film then shows that he survives and continues his work, arresting another gang of criminals. A closing voice-over reminds us that Biju is not a superhero—just one of many dedicated cops who strive to keep the state safe, day after day.
