In the opening scene, Scarlet Marlowe crosses the Iranian border, driven by her mission to uncover a piece of history tucked away in a hidden catacomb. Understanding the inherent dangers of her quest, she boldly proclaims that catching her won't be easy for the authorities.

Scarlet arrives at Reza's home, which has secret access to the catacomb she desperately wants to explore. With a looming demolition by the government, they know time is of the essence, and they begin their descent into the depths below.

As they navigate the catacombs, Scarlet and Reza encounter soldiers but manage to hide until it's safe. In a moment of triumph, Scarlet discovers a bull statue known as The Rose Key, inscribed with markings that could lead her to greater revelations about her father's work.

Back in Paris, Scarlet explains to her cameraman Benjy her mission to find the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary object believed to grant immortality. Their conversation reveals her father's tragic history and the burdens it brought upon her.

Scarlet and Benjy visit the crypt of Nicolas Flamel, a famed alchemist, in hopes of finding clues about the Philosopher's Stone. Frustrated by her inability to translate the inscriptions, they seek an expert who can help them decipher the hidden messages.

Scarlet and Benjy break into a church, searching for George, a skilled translator. George is initially upset to see Scarlet, recalling their tumultuous past, but agrees to assist in the quest for the Philosopher's Stone.

The trio returns to Flamel's tomb and discovers that the key to the stone's location may lie hidden on the back of Flamel’s grave marker. After experimenting with chemical reactions, they unveil a coded message that leads them forward.

Scarlet, Benjy, and George embark on a sanctioned tour of the Paris catacombs to uncover a hidden entrance. Guided by a local teenager, they cleverly arrange to meet Papillion, a guide who can assist them in accessing the concealed depths.

Upon entering the catacombs, chaos ensues when a police officer tries to apprehend them. The group flees into the dark tunnels with Papillion and begins their treacherous journey, filled with peril and uncertainty.

The group encounters various eerie situations, including disturbing rituals and a path lined with bones. As they navigate deeper, Benjy struggles with claustrophobia leading to a dangerous tunnel collapse, highlighting their perilous journey.

After a series of horrifying encounters, the group begins to experience personal manifestations of their guilt. They confront haunting memories, leading to tragic outcomes, including the brutal death of Souxie, amplifying the emotional stakes.

In a moment of realization, Scarlet discovers a treasure room hidden deep within the catacombs. However, their excitement quickly turns traumatic when an unforeseen cave-in occurs, and they must navigate uniquely challenging obstacles to survive.

As Scarlet and her team jump deeper into the catacombs, they descend into a parallel reality that resembles a twisted version of reality. Each of them grapples with their past guilt, leading to shocking manifestations and confrontations.

In their final bid for survival, the remaining trio takes a leap of faith, recognizing their guilt and fears in the twisted underground reality. By embracing their burdens, they find a way to escape this hellish nightmare.

Scarlet, George, and Zed finally emerge from the catacombs back onto the streets of Paris. Traumatized but alive, they reflect on their harrowing experience, emphasizing that Scarlet’s true quest was for understanding and confronting her family’s dark past.
