A woman arrives in Paris with her young daughter hoping to find work. With scant money and bad luck, they quickly become penniless and homeless, sleeping in parks and searching for shelter. Their survival depends on the occasional kindness of strangers, who offer food, a warm place to rest or a brief moment of hope.
