A Day of Fury

Jagade comes upon a man in trouble on the trail and uses his gun to save him from an unknown danger. After the rescue, he learns the man is U.S. Marshal Alan Burnett, and that Burnett is on his way to West End to marry Jagade's former sweetheart that very day.

Jagade arrives in town before the wedding and disrupts the proceedings. He publicly taunts Sharman Fulton, dredging up the past she has tried to leave behind.

Preacher Jason declares that the wedding cannot proceed after Jagade sullies Sharman's name. The scandal unsettles the town and upends the ceremony.

Burnett arrives but does not arrest Jagade, still indebted for Jagade's trail aid. Jagade provocatively forces open the Sunday saloon and re-imports the saloon girls, flouting the town's rules.

The townspeople, including Miss Timmons and the Preacher, grow furious at Jagade's actions and discuss burning the saloon to restore order. Their anger reflects a fragile social equilibrium that Jagade is destabilizing.

Because Burnett hasn't moved to eject Jagade immediately and Sharman goes to the saloon to ask Jagade to leave town, the judge orders Sharman out of his house. The decision marks how personal loyalties collide with the town's power struggles.

In a bid to prevent greater bloodshed, Burnett shoots the judge in the arm as the judge moves to arrest Jagade. The action escalates the legal chaos and deepens the town's divisions.

The injured judge swears out a warrant for Jagade and has Burnett jailed, removing the marshal from the immediate confrontation. The town now lacks its primary enforcer against Jagade.

With nowhere else to go, Sharman moves into the saloon and agrees to Jagade's condition that she wear her old red dancehall costume. She reverts to a controversial identity that unsettles the town and Jagade.

Billy Brand, a young resident who admires Jagade, shoots the preacher during the town's turmoil. He is immediately seized by remorse as consequences spiral.

Miss Timmons, humiliated by Jagade's scheming, hangs herself. Her death underscores the depth of social damage Jagade has caused.

Realizing only the marshal can take on Jagade, the judge orders Burnett released from jail. This sets the stage for the climactic confrontation.

A church bell rings to distract Jagade amid the climactic shootout. The sound influences the duel's balance and signals someone’s opposition.

Burnett's bullet fatally wounds Jagade, ending the gunfighter's life. As he dies, Jagade realizes the bell was rung in honor of the preacher who opposed him and was killed by Billy.
