“Hip hop is a long, long road…” Ikku, Mighty and Tomu are three friends from Saitama who dream of rap stardom despite the unglamorous suburban backdrop. They form the freestyle crew Sho‑Gung and chase their ambitions with humor and determination. Director Yu Irie, a Saitama native and Grand Prize winner at the Yubari Fantastic Film Festival for this film, blends a comedic tone with a sharp look at the gritty realities faced by suburban youth.
