At forty, Ann Stanley is engaged to a younger man when a one‑night fling with a younger man in Greece upends her life. In New York she thinks she’ll never see Peter Latham, but he appears at her door to take daughter to a party. Though she initially rebuffs his advances, friends and family urge her, and his charm melts resistance, awakening feelings.
