Documentary

Lighter and livelier than Godard’s French work, this U.S. collaboration with Direct Cinema pioneer D.A. Pennebaker was originally titled One A.M. (one American movie). After Godard abandoned the project, Pennebaker and Richard Leacock edited the footage, added new material and released it as One P.M. (one parallel movie). The film blends cinéma‑vérité, political theater and interviews with key 1960s figures, capturing a moment when revolutionary expectations fell short.
