11 Rebels (2025) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

The ending of 11 Rebels is a tragic culmination of chaos, betrayal, and loss during the turbulent period of Japan's Boshin War. Despite their efforts to stand against the Imperial Army, the rebels and the defenders of Shibata are ultimately overwhelmed by the combined forces of Shibata turning traitor and the Imperial Army’s overwhelming power. Masa, Heishiro, and the other rebels fight fiercely, using guerrilla tactics and daring strategies like setting fire to the oil well to fight back, but their efforts are no match for the political manipulations and military might arrayed against them.
