The short, directed by Jean Durand, opens with his recurring character Zigoto (played by Lucien Bataille) leafing through a dull book. Bored, he abandons the reading and heads out for a drive with his friends in a brand‑new automobile dubbed a “101 horsepower car.” At a time when typical cars produced only 4–30 horsepower, the caption signals that Zigoto’s vehicle is meant to be exceptionally fast, setting the stage for a comedic adventure.
