Inspired by Camus’s The Plague, Lung Kong’s most ambitious film reflects his humanist convictions. A rat infestation in Hong Kong’s slums triggers a fast virus, sparking panic as authorities delay. Censored for its critique, the film earned praise during the SARS outbreak and was named in 2011 among the Hong Kong Film Archive’s 100 Hong Kong films.
