Filmed during the final months of actor Kurt Raab, who died of AIDS in 1988, the piece records his last creative work. Raab, a theatre and film veteran known for collaborations with Fassbinder, was making video sketches for a new production when diagnosed. With the support of friend Hans Hirshmuller he continued, and this tape serves as his final testimony. It won the Adolf Grimme Award and the Cinéma du Réel Award.
