Diana and Deric share a witty marriage and Deric’s eccentric mother, until Diana suddenly can’t walk and doctors can’t explain why. Deric’s business suffers as he cares for her, and at a luncheon he meets Aileen Armitage, a blind novelist. Diana asks Aileen for help, forging an unlikely bond as her health declines and the trio reaches a new place.
