Wheedle’s Groove chronicles Seattle’s vibrant yet overlooked soul and funk scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s in the Central District. African‑American clubs thrummed nightly, and local bands earned national contracts, TV spots and shared stages with Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder. When disco surged, the scene faded. The film is narrated by Seattle native Sir Mix‑A‑Lot.
