Warlord (2025) Ending Explained – Final Scene & Meaning

In the film’s climax the small band of elves finally reaches Lloris, only to find the city already in chaos. Barshain and Vflaxxus are discovered, a fight erupts, and Tyfell manages to free Emily. She grabs Elwynn’s weapons and joins the battle, but the Sheriff’s tax‑drivers vastly outnumber the elves. During the melee Emily turns on her rescuers, revealing that she has been driven by a childhood vendetta: the Sheriff told her her parents were killed by the elven warlord, and she now sees every elf as a traitor. She convinces the Brute and the other anti‑elf soldiers to turn against the Sheriff, who is executed in front of the crowd.

With the Sheriff’s death the elves’ plan collapses, but Llanofinn – disguised as a tax‑driver – fires a special “Dragon’s Warning” arrow that summons a smoke‑dragon, creating a diversion. The creature lets the remaining elves slip away into the Forbidden Forest, where Llanofinn kills the Brute in a swift duel. In the forest, a bruised Tyfell scolds his mentor Elwynn for trusting humans and endangering their kind, declaring that he entered the apprenticeship only to succeed Elwynn as warlord. Stung by his pupil’s accusation, Elwynn swears that he will soon raise war against humanity, hinting that the fragile peace has shattered and a larger conflict looms on the horizon.
