Yeong-hye, a housewife plagued by nightly nightmares, abruptly quits meat and becomes vegetarian, discarding the food in her fridge. Her husband Kil‑soo objects, and her family worries about her health. During a lunch she attempts suicide after her father's sudden violence. Her brother‑in‑law Min‑ho, a video artist, learns she bears a Mongolian spot, inspiring his artwork.
