The marriage of an advertising executive is jeopardized when he receives an opportunity to sell a novel he has been writing and quits his job to focus on the book. To keep the family afloat, his wife takes a job as a dancer in a Broadway production. As their relationship strains, further complications arise when she learns she is pregnant.
