What Happens at the End of Triptych?

How Triptych (2024) ends, what the final scene means, which earlier moments set it up and how to read the ending if the film leaves it open. The full ending explained, with every spoiler.

In the final act, Dr. Julia Batiz finally reveals the true scope of her lifelong experiment. She had used her own eggs to create three genetically identical girls, then placed each one with a different family—one affluent, one middle‑class, and one in a chaotic, alcoholic home—to see how nurture would shape them. Over the years she stalked their lives from the shadows, engineering the deaths of their parents and the violent events that pushed the sisters toward self‑destruction, all in the name of “science.”

The sisters gradually piece together the puzzle. Aleida, the richest of the trio, uncovers the existence of her sisters and, desperate for proof, stages a media‑baited raid on Julia’s mansion. In the chaotic confrontation she shoots two of Julia’s men and is herself shot, while Julia is also wounded. The police are led to believe Aleida died in the hospital, but Julia secretly keeps her alive, hidden away so the experiment can continue.

Meanwhile, Becca and Tamara trace the same trail of manipulation. Becca discovers that Julia, not any external conspirator, has been pulling the strings, and she trusts the wrong ally, leading both girls into a deadly trap set by Julia’s confidante, Solana. The three women finally confront their creator together, and in a reversal of the creator‑monster myth, they turn the tables: they lock Julia in a concealed part of the house, effectively imprisoning her like the laboratory subject she once treated as a god.

The series ends with the three sisters standing united, having rescued one another from Julia’s control. Though each bears deep psychological scars from years of exploitation, they now share a bond that promises a more hopeful future, while Julia meets a poetic fate—trapped by the very “creatures” she fashioned.
