During the American invasion of Okinawa, a group of local high‑school girls are pressed into service as nurses, tending to the flood of wounded soldiers. As the enemy pushes deeper, food and shelter become scarce, the casualties mount, and the girls’ desperate struggle ends in a heartbreaking tragedy.
