At a circus, Bluto is the ringmaster while Popeye is the star attraction. Bluto covets Olive and sabotages Popeye’s acts—first by putting a steak on his head as he sticks it into a lion’s mouth, then by slipping a banana peel during a high‑wire piano routine that also carries a blindfolded Olive. After Popeye is tossed into the monkey cage, Bluto tries to claim Olive, but Popeye eats his spinach and triumphs.
