In 1863, a group of Confederate soldiers is tasked with transporting gold bullion intended for military payments. They are ambushed by a mysterious highwayman armed with automatic pistols, resulting in their demise and the theft of the gold.

After stealing the gold, the highwayman inexplicably transforms into a gelatinous mist, leaving the soldiers behind in shock. This bizarre phenomenon adds to the air of mystery surrounding the incident.

Fast forward to 1994, the U.S. government establishes the Time Enforcement Commission (TEC) to address issues arising from new time travel technology. The TEC's primary goal is to identify and manage 'time ripples' in order to protect the integrity of the timeline.

Senator Aaron McComb takes charge of overseeing the TEC's mission. His keen interest suggests he is motivated by ulterior motives, particularly as investigators find connections to contemporary arms deals involving the stolen gold.

Max Walker, a dedicated police officer, enjoys a peaceful day at the mall with his wife, Melissa. However, their tranquility is disturbed by troublemakers, foreshadowing the tragedy that follows later in their lives.

In a cruel twist of fate, Max and Melissa's evening concludes in tragedy when they are confronted by attackers. An explosion occurs, resulting in Melissa's untimely death, leaving Max devastated and alone.

A decade later, in 2004, Max has evolved into a seasoned agent for the TEC. He is assigned to travel back to October 1929 during the Wall Street crash to confront his former partner, Atwood, who has been manipulating the chaos for personal gain.

Max confronts Atwood and learns of his collusion with Senator McComb, who is funding his presidential campaign through corrupt means. A tense encounter leads Atwood to contemplate suicide as he fears for his life, but Max intervenes in a moment of empathy.

Despite efforts to maintain control, Max discovers that McComb continues to manipulate events from behind the scenes. Following an assassination attempt on his life, Max showcases his martial arts skills in a fierce battle as he seeks to uncover the truth.

Max partners with Sarah Fielding, only to be betrayed when she reveals her loyalty to McComb. This revelation sets off a chain of disastrous events, complicating Max's mission to safeguard the timeline.

Back in 2004, Max finds McComb's power has only increased, leading towards the TEC's closure. Determined to stop the impending disaster, Max commandeers the original time machine, risking everything to rewrite history.

As Max travels back to 1994, he learns devastating news about Melissa's pregnancy before her tragic death. This revelation fuels his determination to save her and rewrite their fate.

Max's journey leads him to a high-stakes confrontation with McComb. In a moment that intertwines their fates, the older and younger versions of Max collide, culminating in an explosive battle that tests the limits of time travel.

After the chaotic events subside, Max returns to a transformed 2004, where the TEC remains operational and McComb has mysteriously vanished. This significant shift frees Max from his haunted past and opens the door for new beginnings.

Max's journey culminates in a heartwarming reunion with Melissa and their son, signifying the restoration of hope in their lives. Melissa hints at another pregnancy, further solidifying the promise of a brighter future.
