Brian's sister films him injuring himself during practice at home. She shows the video around the school on the TV, and it quickly makes its way to Connor, the Eagles' star. The incident leaves Brian humiliated and wary of new attention.

Brian's dad takes him to an Oklahoma City Thunder game against the New Orleans Hornets at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The game feels like a beacon of possibility for Brian, who longs to emulate his idol on the court. The experience plants the seed for a life-changing moment to come.

After several impressive shots at home, Brian decides to try out for the Eagles again. The coach is impressed and makes him captain, replacing Connor. Brian helps the Eagles win several games, showing improvements on both ends of the floor.

Connor grows more jealous as Isabelle pays attention to Brian and his on-court success. The rivalry adds tension to practices and games.

Brian apologizes to Isabelle and watches the video of his miss at her house. He realizes what he must do to restore Durant's talent and reverse the transfer.

In the Eagles' final game, Brian is nervous without his talent, but the team supports him and he leads them to a close victory. He takes the final shot himself, delivering the game-winning basket and sending the Eagles to the state playoffs for the first time in 32 years.
