Three Amigos!

In 1916, the notorious bandit El Guapo and his gang begin to terrorize the peaceful village of Santo Poco. They demand protection money, striking fear into the hearts of the villagers, who feel helpless against the criminal's threats.

Carmen, the daughter of the village leader, discovers a silent film that features 'The Three Amigos.' Inspired by their heroics, she sends a telegram to Hollywood, seeking assistance from these fictional characters to save her village.

Due to budget constraints, the telegraph operator shortens Carmen's telegram. The distorted message reaches Hollywood, leading the three silent film actors, Lucky, Dusty, and Ned, to misinterpret it as an offer to participate in a film about El Guapo.

In Hollywood, the three actors demand a wage increase and, to their shock, are promptly fired by their studio boss, Harry Flugleman. With nowhere else to go, they decide to follow the misleading telegram and head to Mexico.

The Amigos arrive at a cantina near Santo Poco and are mistakenly thought to be allies of a German pilot searching for El Guapo. The hopeful Carmen welcomes them, leading the trio back to Santo Poco, where they are celebrated as heroes.

The next day, three of El Guapo's men raid the village. Mistakenly believing they are skilled warriors, the Amigos perform a Hollywood-style stunt to intimidate the bandits, who are left confused and retreat, unaware of the actual threat they pose.

After El Guapo learns about the Amigos, he confronts them, but the trio confesses their true nature. El Guapo seizes this opportunity to loot the village and abduct Carmen, leaving the Amigos to reevaluate their roles in the village.

Feeling ashamed after their cowardice, Ned inspires Lucky and Dusty to embrace the idea of becoming real heroes. They resolve to rescue Carmen and stop El Guapo, spurred on by their newfound determination.

The Amigos struggle to find El Guapo's hideout. However, they spot a cargo plane piloted by the German, delivering weapons for El Guapo's upcoming birthday celebration, giving them a lead on their target.

As the Amigos comically attempt to infiltrate the hideout, their efforts lead to a series of mishaps. Dusty crashes into Carmen’s quarters, while Ned ends up stuck in a piñata, illustrating their amateurish yet earnest attempts.

Ned finds himself challenged to a duel by the German after both he and Lucky escape their predicaments. In a surprising turn of events, Ned manages to defeat the German, giving the Amigos a chance to escape.

With the German's defeat, Lucky holds El Guapo at gunpoint, allowing Carmen and the Amigos to flee. They escape first on horseback and then commandeer the German pilot's plane as they make their way back to Santo Poco.

Upon returning to Santo Poco with El Guapo's gang in pursuit, the Amigos galvanize the villagers to prepare for battle. They strategize together to ensure they are ready to confront El Guapo's forces.

The bandits arrive at a seemingly deserted village but are ambushed by the well-prepared villagers. In a dramatic turn, El Guapo suffers a fatal injury as he confronts the villagers, ultimately acknowledging their bravery.

With justice served, the villagers offer their meager treasures to the Amigos as a reward. However, they graciously decline, stating that the experience of becoming true heroes was the reward in itself, and they ride off into the sunset.
