A manipulative countess intervenes in the relationship between gay sculptor Claude Zoret and his bisexual model‑lover Mikaël, sparking jealousy and betrayal. Their conflict culminates in Zoret’s death during a violent storm, striking the base of a statue of Mikaël portrayed as Icarus. The surviving version is missing 19 minutes of footage.
