Mae finally breaks through the endless loop of hopping from one reality to another when she can no longer ignore the emptiness that has been following her. After a night of drinking, drugs and binge‑eating, she collapses on a park bench and, in a raw, tear‑filled confession, voices every fear and resentment she has been carrying about herself and her marriage. Her best friend Gina, who has remained a constant presence no matter which version of the world Mae lands in, appears and gently escorts her home.

The next morning, Mae wanders out again and, as if guided by fate, runs into an alternate version of her husband Elijah. She tells him everything—how each orgasm has thrown her into a new universe where the last person she slept with becomes her partner. Elijah listens without judgment, and the honesty finally bridges the distance that had built up between them. When they make love, the familiar surge that normally catapults Mae to another timeline instead lands her back in the life she started with: the one where Elijah is truly her husband.

In this return, Mae’s journey comes full circle. The Buddhist monk she keeps encountering throughout the multiverse, a symbol of the “hungry ghost” from the museum exhibit, represents her insatiable craving for something she cannot find externally. By confronting her own hunger and accepting herself, Mae fills that void. The series ends with her looking at her marriage and her world with genuine appreciation, recognizing that the love she sought was never a different partner but the self‑respect and gratitude she needed to bring to the life she already had.
