Decades later, Louie still lives in his old house and reminisces about their glory days. He decides to track down Belz, Richard, Tim and Franklin to organize a reunion. He invites them to join a camping trip to finally conquer Mount Whitehead.

The missing pack is recovered in a dramatic stumble; it contains a map, compass, and other survival tools. The scouts realize this is fate giving them another chance to beat Mount Whitehead.

Raft escape and Tim's waterfall ride

They build a raft to escape downriver, but Duke's ambush separates Tim from the group. Tim rides the raft down a waterfall, fulfilling a prophecy about a 'wave that never ends', and he survives to reach an abandoned Park Ranger station and call the police, who dismiss his claims due to conflicting reports.

Mothers, trap, and the reward

The scouts bait Duke with a dollar and suspend him from a tree, using a snare trap inspired by the Grunskys' earlier trick. The squirrel returns and gnaws through the ropes, freeing Duke. The mothers then intervene, subduing him, and the FBI arrives with news of a large reward, which is awarded to Louie for leading the rescue.

Arrow of Light at last

In the final scene the seven Owl Patrol members are awarded the Arrow of Light in front of a cheering crowd. The reunion ends with a toast to friendship and the mountain's stubborn challenge.
