Set on a British army base in Singapore during the Malayan Emergency, the story follows conscript Private Brigg, who becomes entangled in a love triangle with the experienced Sergeant Driscoll and Phillipa Raskin, the Regimental Sergeant Major’s daughter, as tensions rise and loyalties are tested.
