John, the famed leader of the Black Bands, courts a beautiful woman while keeping his true identity hidden. When she eventually learns who he really is, she withdraws to a convent, convinced that he caused her family’s death and unable to love him any longer. Meanwhile, John fights on, bearing the wounds he received in battle.
